There are so many different ways to learn Japanese on Pinterest. Today I am going to give you just one tip to get your teeth into.
Build yourself a board!
What is Pinterest?
If you were not aware, Pinterest is basically a Search Engine. You can use Pinterest much like you use Google to find great content. Pinterest is especially useful for finding really nice graphics to help you with memorisation. Plus, you can get the app on your phone:
How do I use Pinterest?
You “pin” your images into a well-organised board which you can revisit quickly and easily. Perfect for revision when you are waiting in line, travelling on the bus or even relaxing in the sunshine.
I used to use Pinterest just for collating present lists for Santa or on my birthday wish list. I used to share these with my family. Now I have multiple boards on different topics. I have a personal account but my Nihongo Connection account is more relevant to this blog post so I shall share the images here:
Pinterest for language?
I love using Pinterest for collecting language-learning resources. It is so easy to use…
- Think of what language point on which you want to concentrate. For example, Casual Japanese Language.
- Search using those terms:
Pinterest gives us a variety of resources. The great thing about Pinterest is that you can experiment with search terms to get some matching content which would make great study aids/flashcards!:
Now just “Pin” all of these into a dedicated board and you have a flashcard deck to use on the go!
Wait? What do I do with a “Board”?
- Create a board
- Name your board
- Fill your board by pinning images with images related to your chosen board information.
I have boards for How to learn languages, Sentences, food information and related vocabulary, among others. You can create boards to suit you. If someone else has a board that you really like you can also follow their board.
Why would I follow someone else’s board?
If you follow them you get their pins in your feed. So you can see their pins arriving in your profile whenever they update… Effectively letting them do the heavy lifting 😉
Here are some of my boards for inspiration:
So let me know…
