I have never studied Business Japanese, in fact I have never really written in Japanese to anyone in a business environment (OK, I did once when I wrote a resume for a company in Fukuoka – but I had A LOT of help from my host father!).
So, after many years of studying Japanese I have managed to successfully avoid the business lingo. This is actually not a good thing as now I am completely clueless how to start an email!
Of course the JLPT requires some experience of Business Japanese. Thankfully I seem to have soaked some into my brain somehow as I was able to recognise it in my practice test for the JLPT in November 2016. It was short but definitely a Business Text and I didn’t get it all wrong! Hurray!
